After I discover that urine drops have come out, or before making a fresh wudhu, what I currently do is remove the old toilet paper and dispose of it, and then I use a new toilet paper to wipe my penis clean (and if necessary, the surrounding areas as well). I don’t, however, wash my penis with water. After having wiped my penis with a toilet paper: – I wrap a new toilet paper around the penis – Soil my undergarments with water (so as to wash any impurities that might be there). – Make a fresh wudhu. Is this alright? Or is it necessary that I wash my penis with water? Q2: Sometimes whilst praying Salaah I feel my urine drops have dribbled out, I maybe 90% sure of it, but there is still a part of me that says “No, these are not urine drops and this time it’s just waswaas (doubts).” The thing is, as I mentioned in my previous question (Q 1607), urine drops don’t necessarily come out always. Yes, most of the time they do, but sometimes they don’t. So, sometimes when I feel urine drops have come out during prayer, I dismiss that feeling as mere doubts and continue praying. However, when I am fairly certain that urine drops have come out, then I go through the cleaning process described above and make a fresh wudhu and repeat my prayer. Is dismissing the feeling of urine drops coming out as mere doubts, and not checking to confirm, alright? Is this practice ok considering I know I suffer from an illness of urine drops dribbling?
Muhtaram / Muhtaramah
In the Name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāh wa-barakātuh.
1) It is permissible to suffice with using toilet paper to wipe the front private part after passing water. However, it is preferable to cleanse oneself by using water. (Raddul Muhtaar).
والرابع : مستحب ، وهو ما إذا بال ولم يتغوط فيغسل قبله . (رد المحتار)
2) You should sprinkle water on the surrounding areas of your private part in order to dispel the doubts. You should not pay attention to the doubts that you have passed urine. However, if you are 100% certain that you have passed urine, then you should cleanse yourself, renew your Wudhu and pray your Salah again.
And Allah knows best.
